About Big Number Calculator
Who builds it
Big Number Calculator is made by a small developer team rather than a single person. Some of us write and test the calculator code, some work on search optimization, and some write the guides. The team's aim is simple: help people who need an answer in this subject, and answer the questions people actually search for.
We do not publish a founder biography, a company address, or a founding date, because there is no such story to tell. If you need to reach a person, write to the contact address at the bottom of this page.
Why the calculator exists
Everyday tools give up on large numbers. A phone calculator turns 100! into scientific notation. A spreadsheet keeps only 15 significant digits. A browser computes 0.1 + 0.2 as 0.30000000000000004, because ordinary computer numbers store values in a fixed-size format that cannot hold every decimal exactly.
The team built this page so those cases return an exact answer instead of an approximation:
- integers of any size your device can handle, written out digit by digit
- decimals as reduced fractions, so 0.1 + 0.2 comes back as 3/10
- the same result written in words, in 19 languages
How the tool works
- Integer arithmetic uses JavaScript's
BigInt, which has no fixed digit cap. - Decimals are parsed into a numerator and a denominator. Only add, subtract, multiply, divide, power and square accept non-integers, and their answers stay exact fractions.
- Work runs in a browser worker, so a long job does not freeze the page and can be cancelled.
- Input accepts whole numbers, decimals, scientific notation such as 3.5e19, and hexadecimal, binary or octal values.
- 18 operations are available: add, subtract, multiply, divide, power, remainder, factorial, GCD, LCM, square, integer square root, combinations, permutations, AND, OR, XOR, shift left and shift right.
- Safeguards cap input length and result size, so one calculation cannot exhaust your device.
What we do not do
- No account, no sign-up and no payment is required to use the calculator.
- Calculations happen in your browser; nothing is uploaded to a calculation service.
- Recent calculations stay in memory unless you tick "Save history on this device", which keeps up to 20 entries in your own browser.
- We do not publish testimonials, user counts or search rankings we cannot show.
Suggestions and corrections
If a result looks wrong, or a guide is unclear, send the exact input and operation to bignumbercalculator7@gmail.com. Reports that include the numbers you entered are the fastest to check.
